There is only one winner in this agreement. Iran emerges victorious.

Trump, while in France for the G7 summit, announced that a peace agreement with Iran would be signed this Friday. The agreement is for the next 30 days, during which time its terms can be reviewed. A

ccording to American and Arab media, the agreement contains significant details in favor of Iran, and almost zero success for the USA. But Trump, as usual, is trying to portray this surrender as a victory, stating only that Iran has promised not to produce nuclear weapons. Based on the outcomes of the agreement, rather than what Trump said, the situation is as follows… Iran has won the war reparations it previously promised. It will receive $300 billion in aid from the USA. The USA will release Iran’s goods and cash held abroad and will lift primary and secondary sanctions.

It will both lift its own sanctions against Iran and cancel sanctions against countries aiding Iran. The USA will no longer interfere in Iran’s internal affairs. There are no sanctions against Iran regarding Lebanon. Iran’s support for Lebanon and organizations like Hezbollah in the region is again not included in the agreement. The Strait of Hormuz will be opened, but in return, the USA will lift the blockade on the Strait of Hormuz.

Passage through the strait will be free for 30 days, but after that, Iran will introduce a fee for these passages. Iran had already guaranteed the United Nations that it would not produce nuclear weapons. This agreement renews that guarantee, but Trump is presenting it to the American public as if it were a new clause. There are no sanctions on Iran regarding advanced uranium. According to the leaked texts, there is no clause on this in the agreement.

WHY DID THIS WAR HAPPEN?

Now Americans need to ask Trump this question: If Iran was going to emerge much stronger from this war, and we were going to give Iran $300 billion and lift all sanctions, why did we wage this war? The agreement is, in a word, a victory for Iran. For America and Israel, it’s a complete defeat. Iran has brought both countries to their knees.
