PK Keir Starmer fell victim to his own Andy Burnham fear and resigned.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer succumbed to the pressure and finally decided to resign. This will be a gradual resignation. He gave his party time, asking them to appoint a new prime minister by September. He will resign in September.

If he had resigned on time, he would have been a hero and still enjoyed great respect. But he chose to be stubborn, and eventually, he couldn’t withstand the pressure from his cabinet and was forced to resign. This serves as an example for other leaders who ignore these realities and value their positions more than their prestige. It’s impossible to sit in power forever. Especially when, after coming to power, there was no improvement, no economic success, poverty and unemployment increased significantly, and hundreds of businesses closed every day, Starmer only told stories.

Chancellor Rachel Reeves is one of those saddened by Starmer’s resignation. She was the economy minister who did nothing but raise prices alongside Starmer, and ultimately, she ensured Starmer’s departure along with her.

Meanwhile, it seems certain that Andy Burnham, the Mayor of Manchester, will take over the leadership of the party. There’s no guarantee yet, but there’s no one who could challenge him. The real bad thing for Starmer is losing to Andy Burnham, whom he prevented from entering parliament to avoid him running against him. Whether this is fate or not is debatable, but what’s certain is that fear doesn’t always bring success in politics. Sometimes there is God’s justice, and that justice prevails despite everything.

There’s nothing else to say but wish Starmer good luck. They came to power unprepared, and Starmer paid the price with a heavy defeat in the municipal elections.
