Andy Burnham, widely expected to become the new prime minister, thanked Prime Minister Starmer, who resigned today, in a statement he made on X. He made the following statement:

“Keir has given huge service to our country and I want to thank him for his leadership and dedication during such a challenging period.
His decision marks the beginning of a transition and it is important that this process is conducted in an orderly and responsible way.”
Starmer’s resignation is a great lesson for Andy Burnham. The only reason governments stay in power is the people. There’s no joking about playing with the people. When you say you’re in power to serve, you will serve. Fighting the people means nothing but defeat. There’s no logic in being stubborn with the people.
It was impossible for a leader who had already lost an election to remain in power, but Starmer tried. He even went further and offered Andy Burnham a ministerial position in the cabinet to avoid losing his seat. This was perhaps the main reason why the ministers turned against Starmer. Starmer’s clinging so tightly to his position, even to the point of sacrificing his cabinet colleagues, was the last straw.
What drove Starmer to power was the pensioners, the unemployed. Rising poverty, unemployment, and the flight of capital abroad. In the last two years alone, nearly a million people have left the country and settled elsewhere. Around 300,000 British citizens of Polish descent alone have begun to leave and return to their home countries, and this migration continues. The pressure on immigrants, the constant targeting of immigrants in the media, has forced even those who contributed billions to the country to move all their assets back to their home countries. Immigrants were what kept this country afloat, but the increasing hostility in recent years has only fueled the exodus. The amount of foreign capital has also decreased significantly. No new people are coming from Europe. The number of people coming from the USA is also not large enough to keep the country economically afloat.
In conclusion, the entire reason for the rise of xenophobia is the Labour Party’s failure in the economy. Nigel Farage and ReformUK turned this failure into anti-immigrant rhetoric, blaming immigrants for everything and making them the target.
When immigrants leave this country, it will be left to white supremacists, and what will they do? They will continue drinking their beers in pubs. The service sector and foreign investment will gradually decrease.
