King Charles ignored the criticism and is going to the USA as Trump’s guest. Okay, since he ignored all the warnings, he should at least listen to these. He should be prepared for Trump’s foolish remarks. He should be prepared for Trump to criticize the UK to his face, and for criticism from Starmer and London Mayor Sadiq Khan.
Trump is like a wounded bull, ready to attack at any red flag. The King is not above Parliament. He only represents the country, but he has no right to directly interfere in national and international politics.
He is highly likely to lose the respect of Trump. He has to respond to every foolish remark of Trump’s without falling into Zelensky’s situation. The more he tolerates and ignores Trump, the more he emboldens him and makes him even more aggressive.
Trump is not bigger than the USA, and the King is not bigger than the UK. Trump cares more about himself than his country, but King Charles cannot do that. For one thing, he is not senile; he still thinks about important things for his country. His country’s interests always come first.
He is visiting the USA, not Trump. He needs to understand that the American people still see the UK as a great and respected nation.
