Can someone who came to power using democracy abolish democracy? Yes, they can. Turkey is the best example of this. Erdoğan, who has been in power for 23 years, came to power using democracy. He used democracy to declare himself king. 100% of the media is under Erdoğan’s control. The remaining percentage is allowed for opposition with control.

There are great similarities between Trump and Erdoğan. Neither believes in democracy, and both are ready to risk everything to stay in power. The best way to control the public is not to destroy the media, but to bring it under one’s control. Erdoğan has done this very well, giving instructions to businessmen close to him to buy up major media outlets. Now, that media cannot act outside the orders of Erdoğan and his party, the AKP. In Türkiye, there used to be media moguls and journalists who acted like a media mafia. They used fake news to pressure governments, thus securing large contracts, establishing banks, and robbing the state and the people. Erdoğan sent these two names to the dustbin of history by having the media outlets of Dinç Bilgin and Aydın Doğan, the owners of Hurriyet and Sabah newspapers, bought out. There are no more media mafias, but now there are newspaper owners and journalists who are Erdoğan’s employees.
Trump has started to follow Erdoğan’s example. Perhaps more than just following… In the subconscious, this is typical behavior of all anti-democratic people.
The type of journalist who constantly flatters the ruling party and manipulates the public by constantly lying has taken over all media outlets in Türkiye today. They receive high salaries and cannot report or comment on anything outside the agenda given to them by the ruling party. In fact, the Presidency of Communications even provides journalists with written questions, and they act as if they are the ones who put those questions in. Now, Trump and the US government are ‘eroding’ press freedom.
Leaders like Trump don’t think about the day they will die. Actually, they don’t think about their country either; they engage in rhetoric and deceive their own supporters. Because the most easily deceived type of people in the world are those who call themselves conservatives but are incapable of using their own minds and are unaware of this. It’s very easy to deceive and manipulate them.
In Türkiye, inflation is currently around 80%. Under pressure from the government, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) was forced to reduce this to around 40%. Turkey is one of the most expensive countries in the world today. It’s among the top three in corruption rankings. Per capita national income is around $8,000. But Erdoğan’s votes are still above 35 percent.
In the USA, Fox News is the most prominent TV channel of the media that obeys this leader. Journalists’ freedom lasts only until they support Trump.
And Trump has already pressed the button to create new Fox TVs. If the American people aren’t smart enough to stop Trump, they will become his slaves
