Trump continued to speak vaguely and spout nonsense. Most recently, he claimed that the British army was not on the front lines in Afghanistan and that it was entirely American soldiers. However, the numbers showed the exact opposite. While 650 American soldiers died alongside the international force in Afghanistan, approximately 466 British soldiers also lost their lives. Many of these soldiers were war veterans.
Prime Minister Starmer has spoken very harshly against Trump, Trump has yet to apologize for this historic mistake. He doesn’t have a habit of apologizing. The families of the deceased soldiers have been venting their anger at Trump for two days. Apologizing is not in Trump’s character.
Trump’s foolish words actually show something else. If you are allied with the USA, you must know that one day you will be abandoned. Being an ally with this country is meaningless. Therefore, supporting everything the USA says or does is the greatest folly. The Greenland scandal forced European leaders to resist the USA, albeit with difficulty, and hopefully this resistance will serve as an inspiration for all future policies. They shouldn’t support every US policy only to be betrayed by it.
They should always remember that the USA won’t be an ally forever.
