Yet, a joint decision should have been reached by now—but it hasn’t happened. When migration is mentioned, people often think only of France and the UK, but this is a fundamental issue for all European nations. Even if illegal immigration does not pose a major problem for them individually, EU countries must address the issue collectively. This is because illegal migrants heading to France or the UK do not simply stay there; they often move on to other European countries, turning the situation into a widespread problem.
