Netanyahu’s insistence on war continues to target Jewish citizens worldwide. The continued bombing in Gaza, despite the ceasefire, has made Jews an object of hatred. Most recently, a mass shooting targeting the Jewish community in Australia killed 11 people and hospitalized 29 others, including a child.
This attack is said to be the deadliest mass shooting in Australia since the Port Arthur attack in 1996. The attack on Bondi Beach occurred during an event celebrating the start of Hanukkah; police stated that more than 1,000 people attended the event.
The Jewish community, especially those living in Israel, must pressure Netanyahu for lasting peace. Perhaps Israel can build its empire, but all innocent Jewish citizens will become targets. Netanyahu is acting like a fanatical religious person, ready to risk everything for the holy land promised to them by the Torah, but someone needs to tell him that no piece of land is more valuable than the lives of its people. Netanyahu also needs to prolong the war to stay in power, and he is doing so at the cost of the lives of his innocent Jewish citizens.
And in the meantime, he is constantly increasing antisemitism.
