UK PM Keir Starmer: No regime can be changed by bombs from the sky.
UK Prime Minister Starmer made two very important statements today. Saying that Trump was pressuring him to attack Iran, Starmer announced that they would not participate in a joint operation, stating: “Trump may want it, but we are obliged to defend the UK’s interests. Therefore, we will not participate in a joint attack on Iran.”
Starmer, who had previously stated that they would not allow the US to use their bases, did not stick to that promise, but at least he showed a firm stance. His second important statement concerned the change of the Iranian regime. “As the UK government, we believe that the regime cannot be changed from the heavens.”

Two very important statements: Trump and Israel believe they can change the regime by bombing Iran, but they need to do this with the support of the Iranian people. Even those in Iran who oppose the mullahs’ regime, while celebrating, have not given open support. There is only one way to overthrow the regime: a ground operation. Trump does not, and will not, choose to send US troops into Iranian territory for a face-to-face battle. Because this means the death of American soldiers and an uprising of the American people.
Meanwhile, the American people have slowly begun to question themselves and Trump. Recent polls show that three-quarters of the public consider military action unnecessary, meaning Trump and the pro-war media have only managed to convince one percent of the public.
The American people should actually be asking: what are their soldiers doing on Iraqi soil? As opinions grow that this is for American interests or Israeli interests, Trump’s promises of a “war-free America” are left hanging in the air. Trump is no different from other US leaders. The American people are obliged to demand accountability. Six American soldiers have lost their lives so far. Trump stated that there is a possibility of more US soldiers dying.
The American people must learn to ask: what are US soldiers doing on Iranian soil?
