Iran threatened to attack US-linked oil targets following the attacks on Kharg Island. The Iranian military stated that oil and energy infrastructure belonging to companies cooperating with the US would be “immediately destroyed,” The Guardian reported.
Iran and Israel are playing their last card. If Iran doesn’t fall after the attacks on Kharg Island, the reputation of both countries will suffer.
Meanwhile, US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth said, “The US defense head is eager to frame the operation as a success – and slam journalists for not portraying it in a positive light.”
He still thinks wars can be won with the media. What he’s actually saying is: “Don’t let the American people see the truth, hide it. Always write about the successes of our military, and if there are no successes, exaggerate and lie.”
If war could be won with the media, Russia would have won in Ukraine, and China in Taiwan. The media constantly spreading false news wins wars but destroys the honor of journalists. The USA might lose the war against Iran, but if the media constantly spreads false news, the public will also lose, just like in Vietnam.
The Secretary of War is essentially saying, ‘The war isn’t going as we want. President Trump keeps telling the public, “We’ve won,” but in reality, there’s still no war won. We have to boost public morale and show them that their tax money is being wasted. Besides, our missile stockpile is running low. Don’t write about this and keep it hidden so the public continues to sleep and trust us.’
