Does the fact that the death toll is 3117 instead of 32,000 make Iran innocent?
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi responded to Trump’s claim that 32,000 people died in the recent protests. “The death toll is 3,117 in total – including approximately 200 security personnel.”
He then added, “If anyone disputes these figures, let them show their evidence.”
Let’s say 3,117 people died instead of 32,000. Could a smaller number absolve the mullahs’ government? Why did 3,117 people die? Because they wanted more freedom and bread… The mullahs are killing people to protect their sacred regime, but then they say the number is small and expect us to believe they are innocent.
How can we believe that the figures Iran has released are accurate? Instead of asking Trump for evidence, the Foreign Minister should show it himself!
We also believe that Trump’s attack on Iran carries regional risks, but this does not legitimize Iran killing its own people. Iran must either change its regime or the mullahs themselves must change. In any case, the popular uprising in Iran will continue. Whether the US intervenes or not… No regime can survive by killing its own people. And no regime can risk fighting a great country like the US relying solely on its military. The people of a regime that kills its own people will be forced to side with the US.
The mullahs are not yet capable of understanding this. They will understand when their country becomes like Syria, but by then it will be too late.
