Did Türkiye allow the USA to use its Incirlik base in Turkey for the attack on Iran?

US and Israeli missiles also targeted the Mullah regime. While missiles were directed at areas where the Iranian government is located, there are reports that Khamenei was removed from his location and taken to a secret bunker. According to reports, the office of Iran’s religious leader, the presidential office in Tehran, and military facilities across the country were targeted. According to Iranian state media, at least 53 people were killed at a girls’ school. This news has not yet been independently confirmed.

Meanwhile, while Iranian attacks are being reported in Bahrain, uncertainty continues regarding whether missiles were launched from Incirlik Air Base in Adana, Türkiye, one of the US’s most important partners in the region. Another noteworthy element is the immediate court-opened investigation into ANKA news agency, which broadcast live from Incirlik Air Base and reported on military activity.

Despite ANKA news agency broadcasting live on the military activity, there is no news about it in the Turkish media. While US and Israeli attacks dominate headlines, there is not a single news report or commentary on Turkey’s stance. This is attributed to the fact that 96% of the Turkish media is under government control. Even media outlets that portray themselves as opposition media, such as Sözcü and Halk TV, continue to ignore claims about whether or not the Incirlik air base was used.

Turkey had previously stated that it would not condone an attack on Iran. While Iran launched missile attacks on US bases in Qatar and Bahrain, the absence of missile attacks on Turkish bases implied Türkiye’s lack of support for the attack. However, images detected and broadcast for two hours by the ANKA news agency showed that the Incirlik base could have been used.

The Turkish government remains silent. While there is not a single word of explanation from the government, the Arab world also continues its silence.
