Is US President Trump smarter or dumber than the Supreme Court justices?
US President Donald Trump continues to believe he is clever. Thinking everyone else is stupid, Trump most recently called the Supreme Court justices “stupid.”
Replacing the tariffs overturned by the Supreme Court with a new 10% global tariff, Trump called the Supreme Court’s rulings “terrible” and criticized the judges who rejected his trade policy as “stupid.”
Whether the Supreme Court justices will respond to Trump remains to be seen, but let us answer: Trump himself isn’t actually very clever, but like all fools, he tries to cover up his own stupidity by blaming others.
Still, the Supreme Court justices are lucky. Because someone like Trump could have said, “The Supreme Court should be shut down.” Because someone like Trump doesn’t believe in fundamental arguments like legality or adherence to the Constitution.
On the other hand, the American public continues to react against the tariffs. Every tariff Trump imposes means an increase in domestic food, fuel, and energy prices. When extra taxes are imposed on goods passing through customs, manufacturers are forced to raise prices to cover their losses.
Trump needs a fight. He can’t live without fighting, without accusing someone of being an idiot.
