Former Prince Andrew was released, but that won’t change anything.

The second expected happened: Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, who was arrested this morning on suspicion of misconduct in public office, was released by the court. Andrew, pictured returning to Sandringham Estate after his arrest, appeared relaxed. There was no sign of anxiety on his face. Sitting leaning back in the back seat of the car, he seemed to know he would be released in a few hours.

His release at this point is meaningless. He has gone down in history as a member of the royal family who was arrested. His release by the court will not make him innocent. At least, the entire public, and he himself, have understood this: no one is untouchable in this country. Everyone who commits a crime will be held accountable before the law.

This arrest also set a precedent for the USA. This arrest, which resonated worldwide, also encouraged the USA and other countries.

Even this is a great success for the country’s justice system. It is an expression of the police’s courage. This is an important step for the future and a significant signal to everyone who thinks they are powerful and untouchable. Only the law is powerful.

It’s that simple!
