According to BBC news, British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper said that following evidence suggesting Russia killed political prisoner Alexei Navalny with frog poison, the UK wants action to be taken.
Cooper didn’t say who told her this, but there are those trying to turn the UK into Russia’s policeman. If any country in Europe lacks the courage to stand up to Russia and is forcing the UK to take the lead in making sacrifices, then they are trying to use the UK.
With relations with the USA deteriorating, there may be those looking for a new policeman. By giving this role to the UK, are they trying to shift all the responsibility, along with its negative consequences, onto us?
Given that the findings regarding Navalny are being investigated by five countries, any of those five could take action, why only the UK?
Instead of creating fantasies, the government needs to face the realities in its own country. The economy is in terrible shape. Unemployment rates are at their highest level in the last 10 years. Young people are leaving the country, just like the rich, because there are no jobs. Businesses are closing. Politics should focus inward instead of chasing new fantasies. Even if we have a chance of winning a war against Russia, what will this war gain us, more democracy?
