Will Lucy Powell make similar mistakes? We’ll have to wait and see.

Lucy Powell was elected as the new deputy leader of the Labour Party following the race that began after Angela Rayner resigned last month. Let’s congratulate her here, but let’s also remind you of something.

Will she, like Angela Rayner and others, ask party donors for money for glasses and a bag? Will she call party donors for £2,000 and ask them to send her money? Will she risk humiliating her position even for a small sum like £2,000?

When Labour came to power, it was revealed that Keir Starmer, Angela Rayner, and Rachel Reeves had asked party donor Mister Ali for even small amounts. In return, Mister Ali was given a pass to Nuber 10.

When this donor scandal came to light, it was already clear whether Labour would succeed. Stagnant inflation, a rising economic crisis, immigration, and increasingly chronic problems all demonstrate today that the government is failing.

Let’s hope Lucy Powell doesn’t make similar mistakes.
