When the Israeli parliament passed the West Bank annexation project, it drew Trump’s ire. Trump, for the first time taking a stand against Israel, told Time that he had been stabbed in the back. Taking a stand against Israel and Benjamin Netanyahu for the first time, Trump stated that he had made a promise to the Arabs and that Israel’s annexation project of the Bank was unacceptable.
The UK Foreign Secretary also criticized the Israeli parliament’s annexation decision as foolish. Fearing Trump’s reaction, Netanyahu backtracked, stating that the approved bill had been introduced by opposition parties and that the bill was impossible to implement.
Trump does not want Israel to be the one to end the peace.
It escaped the world’s attention, but for the first time, the US and Trump took a stand against Israel’s reckless behavior. For the first time, Trump used the term “unpopular leader” against Netanyahu. For the first time, Trump has openly opposed Israel, and the consequences are now awaited. Because what’s generally known is this: The Jewish lobby and capital have significant influence over Trump and previous leaders. It’s these very lobbies and large capital institutions that actually control the US. After Trump’s outburst, will the Jewish lobby and capital openly oppose Trump and threaten him?
We’ll have to wait and see.
