As Hamas and Israel prepare to implement the ceasefire agreement, joy and anxiety are mingling. While both Israel and Hamas are trying to deepen the agreement, people remain concerned about the war that has led to the deaths of tens of thousands. Those who see little chance of peace coming easily continue to wait, both joyfully and anxiously.
US President Trump is very hopeful, but the world has yet to see a suitable platform for sharing this hope. Even with an agreement, major questions remain.
Here are some of these questions.
What will the governance of Gaza be like with the agreement?
What will be the status of the new organization headed by Tony Blair that will take over the administration? How will it manage the region’s destroyed buildings and the impoverished people?
Will some of the Gazan people be sent to other countries, particularly Turkey and Qatar?
Who will rebuild a country destroyed by bombs? Which countries will undertake the rebuilding of the destroyed buildings? Will Qatar and Turkey be entrusted with this task in exchange for the refugees they will take in?
Will Gaza be completely cleared of Gazans?
