We sometimes get angry at the police, but when we look at the Ministry of Justice and prisons, we can’t help but agree with them. The police catch criminals, but prison guards and prison administrations mistakenly release those they’ve apprehended. Finally, according to the BBC, at least four prisoners who were mistakenly released are still at large. These prisoners were among the 262 mistakenly released in England and Wales in the period up to March; the previous year, this number was 115.
It seems there’s no other way than to completely remake the Ministry of Justice and prisons. One of the factors weakening the police’s influence is the irresponsible management of prisons. They release prisoners at random, then, when the media gets involved, launch a major operation, forcing the police to recapture those they’ve already apprehended. The police catch them, and the Ministry of Justice releases them, and all by mistake…
Can 115 prisoners be mistakenly released in a year? If these prisons are in the UK, yes, it’s possible…
