Hamas announced today that it has accepted Trump’s proposed 20-point agreement to end the war with Israel and will release all Israeli hostages. Upon hearing the news, Trump instructed Israel to stop bombing Gaza.
When this dirty war ends, there’s a clear question Gazans and Palestinians must ask Hamas: If you were going to release the hostages, why did you continue this foolish war for two years and cause tens of thousands of lives to be lost? The more important question is: What did you achieve by taking Israeli citizens hostage? You completely destroyed Gaza, more than 60,000 people lost their lives, and the people occupied Gaza and annexed it. Thanks to Gaza, Israel advanced deep into Syria.
Hamas was one of the two losers in this war, the other the people of Gaza. The only winner is Israel. It has further increased its power in the region. It has dominated the entire region, and Gaza will now be restructured as a brand new region under a new administration. It will no longer be the old Gaza. Some Gazans will be sent to Türkiye, while a small portion will be sent to Qatar. Israel’s settlements in Gaza will continue to expand.
