It has emerged that Peter Murrell, the former leader of the Scottish National Party (SNP), is accused of embezzling £459,000 from the party over a period of more than 12 years.
According to the BBC, the first court hearing will take place next week. We will understand more clearly after the trial. But what is strange is this: those who form parties to save the country, invariably end up saving themselves. Similar politicians and the same dirty dealings exist almost everywhere in the world. Politicians and leaders who think first of themselves, then their families, then their friends, then their party members, and then the party. Almost none think of their country. Such parties or institutions don’t give those who think of their country a chance to survive. They constantly find people who are open to corruption and bribery so that it’s easy to use them.
Unfortunately, politicians have become the biggest problem for the country. The vast majority lack the ability to govern the country, but they maintain their existence by granting certain privileges and benefits to those around them.
