What will the Kurds do, whom the USA used and then forgot about?
When Trump failed to achieve his goals in Iran, he turned to the Kurds again. Wanting to deploy the Kurds, who have been used and then forgotten since the Iraq invasion, for a ground operation, Trump specifically contacted Kurdish groups in Iran, asking for their help. He had previously contacted Kurdish group leaders in Iraq and Syria, including Barzani, making the same request.
However, according to reports from the region, the Kurds did not immediately accept Trump’s offer this time. Groups supported during the invasions of Syria and Iraq have begun to say that the USA used them and then discarded them.
WHAT HAPPENS IF THE WAR DRAGS ON?
What would be the result if the war between the USA, Israel, and Iran dragged on? It would be a disaster. Oil prices would skyrocket, everything from food to energy would become more expensive in Europe, Iran would weaken, and people in the USA would start taking to the streets. After the war, if Iran loses, the mullahs in Iran would be replaced by new ones. Israel would increase its power in the region. But again, Europe will suffer the most damage after Iran. As always… the USA will withdraw its armies, warships, and soldiers. Europe will be left with major post-war problems.
WILL KURDISH GROUPS ENTER THE WAR?
Kurdish groups are fragile. They have always relied, openly or secretly, on USA support to reach their current position. They cannot resist Trump’s insistence and the benefits he offers. Trump says he is even willing to give them a part of Iran. Kurdish groups cannot resist this. Especially if it becomes clear that Iran will lose the war, they might even launch a ground offensive to seize what’s left on the sinking ship. The promise of a state for the Kurds, who have never been able to establish a state before, could whet their appetite.
