Singapore’s new global trade recipe: The Global Trade Environment

According to CNA, Trump’s tariffs have sparked debate in Singapore, one of the world’s most important and leading countries. Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister, Gan Kim Yong, stated on Sunday (February 22) that Singapore would likely face a new 15% US tariff on all imports, emphasizing the need for the country to prepare for a fundamentally changed global trading environment.

The Deputy Prime Minister’s words are significant: “A changed global trading environment.” This global change actually began with China’s dominance of the world. China has effectively invaded the world economically, particularly in the automotive sector. Even in Germany, a global automotive giant, there are reports of Chinese cars selling far more and German companies constantly losing ground.

What is actually changing the global environment is China’s expansion of this network of renewal, change, and production across the globe. The USA and Trump are greatly concerned about this. Trump’s reaction to Canada, the UK, and France is actually related to trade relations with China. Because the US and Trump feel threatened. But Trump doesn’t realize that while he constantly threatens the world with tariffs, he’s actually pushing countries closer to China. His greatest benefit has been to European leaders. He made them understand that remaining tied to the USA enslaves them and that they are entirely serving the interests of the USA.

China, which is changing the world with cheap and high-quality products, has also changed Europe. Trump and the USA are futilely trying to free themselves from this influence, and to do so, they are punishing all countries that engage with China with tariffs. Trump could have been more successful if he had used his brains and pursued diplomacy, but even his neighbor Canada has established joint trade centers with China.

The USA’s dominance is crumbling. The roof is about to collapse…
