Chinese President Xi Jinping, in a statement today, addressed countries held captive by Trump, saying that tariffs have become a form of blackmail.

After Trump’s tariff blackmail, European countries, including the UK, understood that politics and trade cannot be conducted by trusting UK leaders. When an unconventional leader comes to power, he may first betray his allies. Prime Minister Starmer and the deep state in the UK have understood that closing all doors to China just because the US wants it is not wise. China is a much larger market than the US. If a solid trade agreement can be reached with this country, it could yield a much more profitable result than with the US.
Meanwhile, Trump, as a result of his own stupidity, belittled the agreement between the EU and India. What the USA and Trump, who positions himself as a father figure, forgot was this: This father didn’t look after his children; he started sending each of them to orphanages. He started devouring his own children, in other words. Let him burst with jealousy… He’s isolating America just like himself.

“The world should not be held captive by unilateral policies that build walls where bridges should be built. Using tariffs as a tool of blackmail will only lead to a global recession,” said Jinping, adding that European decisions should be made in Brussels and the capitals of member states, not dictated from across the ocean in line with ‘zero-sum’ agendas. Implying that European countries are not independent, Jinping continued by suggesting that Trump is reviving Cold War mentality: “The Arctic is not a chessboard to revive the Cold War mentality through land acquisitions or military expansion.”
The most important point Jinping made was this: the blackmail of tariffs. While European capitals officially resisted this blackmail, Trump’s blackmail tactics also brought leaders to their senses. Leaders have realized they are no longer dependent on the USA and should not be giving preferential treatment to US firms. Even the EU has announced it will now grant more rights to European technology giants. Finally, the signing of a trade agreement between the EU and India, coupled with Trump’s threat to “blackmail Europe,” triggered a major wake-up call. His mind doesn’t have the capacity to see these details; he won’t understand, and by the time he does, much will have changed.
