Flash decision regarding trans people using women’s locker rooms and …

Sandie Peggie, a nurse who refused to share a women’s locker room with a transgender doctor, won a harassment lawsuit against NHS Fife. The court ruled in favor of Peggie, but she was denied access to other charges. The court dismissed other harassment claims involving discrimination and victimization.

Sandie Peggie was suspended from her job in a hospital emergency department after complaining about Dr. Beth Upton, who identifies as female despite being biologically male, using the women’s locker room.

A significant number of women share the same view. If a transgender person undresses in a locker room or restroom, it doesn’t really matter how they feel. What matters is how others view them. If a doctor can identify as female but is still biologically male, it’s understandable that women might find this uncomfortable. Women who share a room with a trans person might have many questions, for example. One of these concerns whether the penis of a trans person who identifies as a woman is still functional. When a woman sees a trans person’s genitals, can she think, “It doesn’t matter. It’s not the organ that’s moist, it’s how the person feels about themselves”? She can’t.

There have been women who objected to trans people sharing the same restroom with women before, and their numbers are growing every day. That’s why they’ve coined the term “third gender,” and they’re talking about changing rooms and restrooms belonging to this third gender.

Instead of criticizing Nurse Sandie Peggie, it’s best to empathize…
