The court ruled today for the refugees staying at the Epping Hotel, granting them the right to stay. We don’t know how much we’re paying the Ealing Hotel for the refugees, nor whether the hotel is a five-star hotel, but we know that similar court decisions will only reward refugees who have come to this country illegally.
The court may have made justified decisions, and they may have made decisions with more humanitarian motives in mind, but ultimately, this decision will only embolden refugees and encourage new refugees to come.
We’re not criticizing the decision, but we believe it would be beneficial for the courts to consider the consequences of their decisions.
